Frequently asked questions
- Do I need Microsoft Word?
- No. The documents are read in your browser. It works on Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebooks, and phones.
- Is formatting compared?
- No, only the text. Bold, fonts, colors, and layout changes don't show up. Each paragraph becomes one line, so a changed word highlights inside its paragraph.
- Does it work with .doc files?
- Only .docx. Open an old .doc file in Word, Google Docs, or LibreOffice and save it as .docx first.
- Can I save the comparison?
- Yes. Print it, or choose Save as PDF in the print dialog, to keep a record of the differences with the changes highlighted.
