Frequently asked questions
- What does it compare?
- The text of each PDF, line by line, with changed words highlighted. Layout, images, and fonts aren't compared, so moving a picture won't show up but changing a word will.
- Why does my PDF show no text?
- It's probably a scan: a picture of a page, with no text inside. Those need text recognition (OCR) first. PDFs saved from Word or a browser compare fine.
- Can I compare password-protected PDFs?
- Not yet. Remove the password first, for example by printing it to PDF from your PDF reader, then open it here.
- Can I compare a PDF with a Word document?
- Yes. Each side can be a different file type; only the text is compared. Line breaks can differ between formats, so try Ignore whitespace if lines don't line up.
- Is there a page limit?
- No page limit, and files up to 50 MB each. Very long documents only depend on your device's memory.
